Orbix is a browser-based subscription tracker built and maintained as an independent project. This policy describes what data Orbix collects, how it is stored, and what users can expect in terms of privacy.
The short version: Orbix does not sell data, does not run ads, and does not track users. Subscription data is stored securely in the cloud so it can be accessed from any device.
All subscription data — names, costs, billing dates, notes — is synced to a secure cloud database (Supabase). This allows users to access their data from any device. The data is associated with the user's account and is stored on Supabase's infrastructure solely to power the app.
Display preferences (theme, accent colour) are stored locally in the browser via localStorage and are not synced.
Users can export their data at any time via CSV and import it back whenever needed.
When the currency conversion feature is used, Orbix fetches current exchange rates from open.er-api.com. This request contains no personal data. Rates are cached locally for 6 hours to minimise external requests.
The Orbix website does not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or any third-party monitoring tools. No data about visits is collected or stored server-side.
Payments for Orbix Pro are processed by Stripe. Orbix does not see or store card details. Stripe collects the email address and payment information necessary to process the subscription, and handles that data under its own privacy policy.
No user data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other commercial purpose. The only third-party services involved are Supabase (cloud storage, Pro users), Stripe (payments, Pro users), and open.er-api.com (exchange rates, when used). All are used strictly to deliver the app's functionality.
Users can request full deletion of their account and associated data by contacting Orbix directly. Requests will be processed promptly.
Users in the EU are protected under GDPR. Users in California are protected under CCPA. Requests regarding data access, correction, or deletion can be sent to info@orbixapp.net.
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the date at the top of this page will be updated and a notice will be visible in the app where relevant. Changes that reduce user privacy will always be communicated clearly before taking effect.
